Traditional British Style Cruising

For many years Cruise & Maritime Voyages have specialised in providing ex-UK ‘no fly’ cruising holidays aboard smaller and medium sized classic and more traditional style ships. We believe these vessels, which are generally owned by independent and privately owned shipping companies, offer a more leisurely and friendly ‘home from home’ style of cruising and maritime experience and are accessible to a much wider choice of interesting and remote ports of call.

However, if you are looking for vast shopping malls and atriums, swimming pools with large flumes, ice skating, and even rock climbing options, the Cruise & Maritime Voyages cruising experience is not for you. These features plus many more can be found on one of the newer breed of mega resort style ships where you will be in the company of up to 3,500 passengers.

This cruiseline’s main emphasis will be very much on attaining high levels of customer satisfaction and attentive and friendly service standards and we will be striving to ensure that the passengers return home with many fond memories and will cruise with them again and again.

Exclusively For Adults

For the enjoyment of our adult passengers Marco Polo operates as a ‘child free’ ship. This means that even during school holiday times you can enjoy the pleasures of cruising in the company of adult passengers only. We will however accept teenagers who are 16 years old or above at the time of sailing but they must be accompanied by adult passengers. Families will however be welcome to cruise aboard Ocean Countess although it should be noted that there are no dedicated recreation facilities for children.

Higher grade staterooms/cabins

These types of options are available on this ship, please call for availability

Would you like to change something about this holiday?

Special requests such as adding a pre-stay hotel, coach transfers, private transfers, car parking, flights or any other arrangement would be subject to change, availability and quoted accordingly to you.

Families and cabin sharing options

On most cruises we can offer you the option of interconnecting or non interconnecting cabins, which are capable of accommodating between three or four people. For family cabins or larger rooms which can hold more than four people, please call to check availability.

Due to the popularity of these options they are subject to availability and we recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment. Subject to terms and conditions a discount may be offered for the extra passengers in the cabin. Please contact us for further information and pricing.

Cruise itinerary and visiting ports of call

In most ports of call you will be offered tenders, excursions, leisure activities and wherever possible the choice to do your own thing within the allotted time period. You will have a good chance to look around and enjoy the sites and maybe even indulge in some local activities. You may just prefer to stay on board which is fine as the ship will still operate all its facilities as normal.

If you decide to book excursions they will vary in cost depending on what you do and their duration. There is usually a varied selection to suit everyone needs and budget. We are happy to provide you with some examples of the kinds of things on offer if you need some more information.

Most cruise operators will allow you to pre-book excursions, which is advisable to ensure your place. If you prefer not to, and would like to decide later, you can generally book excursions aboard ships at their information desks.

  • About This Ship

Exclusively for adults or passengers above the age of 16 years old at time of sailing.

The Marco Polo cruise liner is kept very busy as she covers sailings extensively from Europe all the way to South America.

With a reinforced hull, it is suitable for icy waters and runs regular trips to both the Arctic and the Antarctic. It is a mid-size, traditional vessel with a 1920s Art Deco feel as you tread the teak decks.

There is a very adult atmosphere on board, children are not banned but neither are they encouraged. This is no party boat.

Refinement and understatement are the key to the on board experience, where sanctuary from a hectic world can be found in nearly every corner, whether it be the library, the spa or the piano lounge.
